Engineering Leadership Accelerator™

All Paths Lead to Stronger Leaders.

Most AEC firms invest in their engineers’ technical skills — and then wonder why those same engineers struggle when they’re handed a team to lead.

Leadership isn’t a personality trait. It’s a skillset. And like any skill, it has to be taught, practiced, and reinforced over time.

That’s what the Engineering Leadership Accelerator™ (ELA) was built to do. EMI’s proven leadership curriculum was designed specifically for engineers and technical professionals — and it’s available in three formats based on the size of your team and the scope of your goals.

How Our Approach Works

All of EMI’s leadership programs are built on the same proven Engineering Leadership AcceleratorTM curriculum — then delivered in the format that fits your team best.

Proven Leadership Framework

Our core Engineering Leadership Accelerator (ELA) curriculum is built specifically for engineers and technical professionals and serves as the foundation across all program formats.

Applied Leadership Learning

Participants engage in live or self-paced modules that embed leadership skills into everyday work with real assignments, reflection tools, and practical frameworks.

Reinforcement & Impact Measurement

Leadership change isn’t one-and-done. We provide reinforcement tools and performance checkpoints to help translate learning into on-the-job results.

As we promoted more engineers into management roles, we continued to invest in internal mentoring while looking for ways to strengthen that support with external development.

What made the difference with EMI was the structure and relevance. The content is built for engineering teams, and the facilitated format created a more consistent, shared experience compared to past self-paced efforts.

We’ve seen stronger engagement and more confident managers as a result. It’s been a valuable complement to our internal development strategy.

Following a comprehensive internal training needs assessment, I partnered with Anthony Fasano and the team at EMI to design and deliver a custom leadership development pilot program. EMI created six focused modules based on the top ‘hot topics’ identified through the assessment, and the sessions—delivered in fall 2025 to our senior project delivery leaders—provided practical, immediately applicable leadership tools. I am happy to say participant feedback was very positive, and plans are in the works to offer the program again in 2026 and expand its impact to broader cohorts of project managers.
